Our Mission: To investigate strandings and improve our understanding of the biology of marine mammals that inhabit our local waters, so that we may enhance their conservation.

To report a stranded marine mammal in Beaufort, Bertie, Camden, Carteret, Chowan,  Craven, Pamlico, Hyde, Onslow, Pamlico, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Tyrrell, Washington, (dead or alive): Call the 24-hour hotline 252-241-5119


                      

Please have the following information ready to report:
Number of animal(s) involved
Condition of animal(s): alive, injured, dead
            Detailed location of animal(s) including address (street, town, county) or GPS location (if possible)
             Description of animal(s) including photos if possible, including
                    Size, color, dorsal fin markings, etc.
                     Name and telephone number of person reporting so we can return the call
          Date and time of your observation


*Please do NOT attempt to push the animal back into the water!*
